The Brain-Body Science of Learning,

Growth Mindset and Talent Development

A Teacher Development Workshop

Stefanie Faye Frank

January 5 & 6, 2019

sponsored by the

HEB Independent School District Suzuki Program

Dear Teachers,

I’m absolutely thrilled to be bringing Stefanie Faye Frank to North Texas! Her fascinating work combines her award-winning research at NYU, and fieldwork at the NYU Institute for Prevention Science, Phelps Lab for Neuroscience Research, the Department of Defense, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine with training from meditation masters from India, Africa and Vietnam, and over a decade of counseling, consulting and teaching people how to maximize their brain’s creative powers. She uses interactive strategies as metaphors for scientific principles to help leaders internalize the idea of how these insights work in their own life, so they can then apply it in their work, relationships, and daily interactions.  As a presenter, her work offers neuroscience education that fosters growth mindset, social innovation, and develops culturally responsive leaders and learners.

NTSA members who participate in the entire course will be eligible to register training with the SAA as a 10 Hour Enrichment Course.  However, we want to invite EVERYONE.  Indeed, there is something in this workshop of enormous value for teachers of all ages and disciplines, administrators, coaches, counselors, and parents. All are welcome! Please join me in extending this invitation to participate to parents in your program, schools in your neighborhood, and anyone who works with children.  I would love to have hundreds of people participate in this dynamic and powerful weekend of learning.

Visit for more information on our speaker and the many areas of expertise she will share with our learning community.

I’m looking forward to seeing you in January!

Lunch Break

Session 2

1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The Science of Trust and Authenticity

Without a sense of trust and safety, the mind-brain-body system cannot learn. To help others access their most powerful, creative and evolved abilities, we must create a sense of authenticity and connection.  Find out exactly how humans can do this from a brain & body science perspective!

Sunday – January 6, 2019

Session 3

1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Embodied Creativity & Learning

Many of us have been taught that learning is all about the brain.  Modern science shows us, however, that all creativity and learning requires movement.  Get inspired with new ideas for introducing and attuning to the body, senses and 'micro-movement' to enhance talent development and well-being.
